Foreign worker

This issue has been interrupting us for many many years, most of the employers’ complaint that they don’t have enough workers, affecting the output and profit, or about the salary. Some bring out the figure that we should not recruit foreign worker anymore or we should reduce the number of foreign worker. Did anyone study this issue and produce a brief report why the employer do said they must have foreign worker and why the politician said they have too many foreign workers and why the residence said they saw foreign workers on the street especially during holiday. Why most of the employers wanted to have foreign worker, let’s go back to before, when we don’t have workers to work for the plant or plantation, most of the Chinese went oversea to earn a higher income instead of working locally during the recession period. So they taste it and they like it, so most of them didn’t come back and stay there for years and years. some of them may have come back and went back to oversea again as illegal worker, because they are no more suitable to the local wages, they think they should earn more than others, they wanted to be paid as what they earn at oversea even thought they are working 12hours daily and they have to hide themselves as most of the country doesn’t allow illegal worker. When they have some money in their pocket they behave like a millionaire, like a professional, they talk about their income from oversea; they stand high in the air. They have forgotten who they are? Their qualification and their work experiences are not up to the requirement, they can earn so much is just because no one like to do that type of work at this country, just the same thing that our local workers refuse to work and we need foreigners.
Some of the local employees like to choose easy and relaxing work, not like the foreigner, they choose which one can earn more money. Foreigners like overtime work, but our local wanted to go home on time and more holidays. Some of the worker does like to take off without informing or applying leave, they are not because of sick or family problem but just wanted to visit his friend, or his friend birthday. Local employees do like to start work late without proper reason, raining, motorbike breakdown, weak up late, no water, and so many more unacceptable reasons. our local worker to give low productivity and like to form union asking for more and more without caring the situation of the employer.
One day, if you are the employer, do you like this type of people to work for you, especially for those in the union; can they manage a business with this type of workers and condition? Look at those companies like to say this system, documentations in all fields, benefit and allowances; can they survive, and how long can they survive, what is the financial situation of them, are they good? Look at some of the huge & giant company, how they manage? Loosing money all the time and then asking for price increasing to cover all loses or? To me the proper way to earn more profit is to create more business opportunity and more sales, increase efficiency and productivity, not just asking to increase price or discount on the debts. Are they monitoring about the manufacturing cost and processes or not? What is the productivity of the company? So many things they need to consider? This is what are our local workers given to the employer and this is why we don’t like local worker.

I am not happy with you

Why don’t these notes reach your table?
Why can’t you reply yourself?
Why your officers or your secretary are so choosy on the work?

Why in such a sudden, the RM5000 campaign is over, I prepare to change my car by end of the year.
Why you tax on the credit card, I am not using them; I just keep them for fun.
Why the PKFZ issue delays for so long, can you go faster.
Why nothing directly benefits me, I don’t feel any.
Why should I pay tax on selling my own property, I pay so much interest to the bank, do you consider that, are you telling us not to change the house and stop the all activity in real estate?
Why no one stop that person from making so much noise insulting the leaders?
Why no one stop that person from talking so much creating problem for the Chinese community?
Why should I have to wait for so long and not the others ?

Politic

Recently, some people complaining that he is fired for not siding someone or someone being asks to resign for not siding someone. I can’t understand why all these people insisted or wanted to be in that position while your boss don’t like you anymore. we should understand and matured to be while we get involve in the politics, we should understand all appointments are based on political background and performances, if you are no siding the leader or the chairman, you are prepare to be fired. Why wanted to create so many trouble, news conference, and court case. When someone is on that particular position which is given the power to appoint someone then the appointed person should be ready to be fired in one day if he is no more recommended by the person who appoints him. This person should step down and let the other person to go up, why so much noise. That position is mean for life long; it is not belongs to you. If you are the shore holder of a company, you will be the director automatically but if you are not, then just stepping down if the boss doesn’t like you. When it is a political appointment, it is automatically not a normal appointment under the labour law. Why wanted to create so many meeting to defense your position. From my personal view, this is power crazy and proves that this person is not working for the community but for his own pocket and interest. If there is any discrepancy or dissatisfaction, bring him down in the next election, is it necessary to create so much problem showing others that we are not unite. It is not only someone is no good, but the entire races and community is considered as not unite or trouble maker. I hope these peoples will think twice before the peoples remove them in the election.

Position and title change Human Nature

I have not write for quite some time, busy for the scheduled wastes management training report. Recently I come across one thing, showing the human nature and the actual attitude of human. I see the face changing within few days for his own benefits.

I was called to take over the chair of the resident association by the pro team chairwoman since the former pro team is unable to obtain the registration from the registrar for almost two years. The entire committee is sleeping without activities.

After the taking over, I invite the previous pro-team chairwoman to join us so that we can work together, but she said, she is very busy for his own activities, and she lost interest in the residence activity. She insists me to take over and lead the team on January 2009. Before I form my pro-team, I invite all the previous pro team committee to come back, but most of them said sorry, busy, and some of them said they are low educated and is difficult for them to carry a post, but they will support. I finally got a few of them and submit the application again to the registrar on February 2009. The registrar responsed very fast for some spelling error, I resubmit the form again and finally I got the letter of approval and ask to go for the seminar to collect the certificate on August 2009.

After that, I invite the previous pro team again and directly go to the previous pro team chairwoman to invite her back, she told me the same answer again, she is not interested and she is busy. During the AGM meeting on October 2009, unsuspected, she starts the campaign for votes and asking to support her president position. And she brought in many non members, the regulation said that, members means those have paid the registration fees and annual fees and the AGM haven’t pass a resolution saying that all resident will automatically become member.

Finally, she won and the person who is doing the work running up and down for the registration is kept outside the committee. I would said she highjack the post because she didn’t show his capability and responsibility as she had failed to register the association for two years times, and she said she is not interested anymore, why she want to fight for the post by changing his mind just within few days, is that the title or any thing make her change, god know?

Observation

Motorcyclist like to travel and speeding in between cars, and start horning others or shouting other for not giving ways. They like to travel at the middle of the road too, intentionally preventing the car to over take them. I myself is a motorcyclist too, but I don’t like this style, this is dangerous and meaningless.

Protest, quite often we can see. Some people like to protest, who knows this is for their own benefit or for the community. May be they want to be the hero or they want to have some benefit from certain organization, therefore, they protest and they call everybody. Our image, our property, our economy, energy and time is wasted or damage during the protest, can the protest creating some wealth for the community? I am not worry about the ISA because I have no intention in going against the laws and regulations. I have no intention to shout for nothing, I don’t make objection because I am not the government. Why I must get caught in the traffic jam, why should I be delay in going to work and going home because of someone interest? Our PM should learn from China in taking care of this protest.

Some people like to show out, think they are the only good leader. They did not like to work and prove they himself is suitable, they just want to wait until others created a good start or completed the difficult part and they said they can lead. That’s the Chinese phrased “no body wants the skinny farmland; many people fighting for it after someone had planted on it.”

I can’t understand why the Pakatan Rakyat and PAS wanted to interfere with the Chinese community lifestyle. Is it the intention and beginning of implementing the Islamic law? If those people don’t drink, can the store keeper sell? No one force them to drink and no one force them to buy, the only thing is they are not a good Muslim. How can the storekeeper sele, if nobody buy? Why should we be interfered? Is this the policies they want for those who had supported them?

I think this is the right timing for us to think over, who is right and who is wrong.

Why should I get approval from you?

I ask for approval from my mother to go out, when I was a small boy.
I ask for approval from my teacher to go to toilet, when I was in school.
I ask for approval from my wife to do something, after I got marriage, and
I will ask for approval to go somewhere from my children, when I got old.
But,
Why should I ask for approval from someone whom had hurt me as to expose the issue to the public?
Should I need the approval from the gangster to report to police for being disturbed? Or
Should I need the approval from the robber to report for the loses?
I feel very funny and seem childish when I saw the complaint that she needs the approval to show those injuries to the world from the person claimed to have hurt her. I can’t understand. It seems to me that jurisdiction is not around.

The world is changing, those practices in the olden days are no longer practice today, and as modern people, we should practice like modern people. Look forward and think openly. Stay out of the shell and accept new things and knowledge. We have nothing to loose if we learn something new which can benefit us, but we will loose a lot if we still living in the shell. Open up your mind and open up your eye, welcome the bright sunny day, we see peace and joy. Why should we tie ourselves in the history? Open up our heart, and welcome new knowledge, new things, forgive other, and bless them with gracefulness. Can someone guarantee he or she had never done something wrong? Can anyone say he or she is perfect? Please don’t put all the anger into your hear or your mind, think of forgiveness, something money cannot buy, and power can make people listen but not respect.

Show us you are working on it.

Psychologically, human will defense himself by fire back to his enemy or the opposition party. People always like to say this is not his mistake. And emphasis on someone is saying this too. This shows that, human like to push away what he doesn’t like and try to damage others people image with someone message and promote his own image at the same time.

I would like to ask, someone, or may be someone can answer me, why can’t we or our leaders work together and build a strong community for the people and for himself. People had made the decision, who is right and who is wrong, we know. This is the time for those who are on the seat to do something and show us what you can do and not talking so much with the finger pointing on some others. Please to remind that, when we use our finger to point at someone, there are at lease three fingers are pointing at yourselves.

Sometime, human always forgetful, they forgot they are not guarantee or for sure that they will be appointed. People may select someone at the next campaign. Like the selection of the Commission for Oats, they said seldom received the application from the Chinese, but then I know there is no or very few of them got the reply. This means that, it is not for sure that they will be considered even thought they are asked to submit their application. So nothing is for sure.

Are people on the chair are always forgetful. No, it is wrong, because they are the leader, they are very busy, and we are so troublesome, asking this and asking that, never end. How can they entertain you? They only found themselves free when they need your support. Do we need this type of leaders or do we need this type of government?

It's all Cheating

Dear honorable PM and Leaders,

Don’t you think the sweet at the last minute will help? We are not small boy, we are mature person. We know what is happening and we know, who is right and who is wrong. Too many explanation may cause more trouble and confusing. Just pass it back to the people or just use the gangster way if you are worry to loose. We may not say anything or we may say we support you at the time we meet you, but we will turn around and support other as we know what you have done to us for the past and present.

In fact, we should not blame you for the unreasonable policies implemented, because there are not decided by you, is your subordinate did it. We know you wanted to amend them, but it is too late, because we are very tired and lost our patient so we choose somebody else. We are trying to put the trust back to you one more time, but the fact had told us that you are not trustable as most of the things that you and your staff had mention in the newspaper and are just mean for newspaper only.

Let’s give you some example, the commission of oaths, the facilitators, the welfare and so on. So many things that your officers had ask us to support and apply for it, but then it had no reply when we put up the application. It’s all cheating.

Deal with them, if I were you. One to one, face to face or will be the end of the game.

The Process

I went for a metal stamping process control seminar last week, the instructor mention that, the wrinkle, crack, compress mark are due to the flow of material, it may be too much or less.

Some thing come to my mind, The quality of the products can be affected throughout the entire manufacturing process if we don’t control and take serious. The necessity of the qualified person in the work station is high. We can’t simply put in somebody and let him try for three months and remove him under non performance. I had an experience few months ago, when my senior told me to remove a sales person before the confirmation. “He is not performing as what the company expected and he don’t have any knowledge in this industry.” this is what he told me when I ask him why. I can’t understand why the management recruit him on the first place that he had inform the management that his experiences is on furniture sale and not in automotive parts. His basic paid and commission is more that the basic paid over here, he join us is just because we promised him a lot more. He feel so upset when I discuss with him as he is unable to go back to the previous company and cannot continue here.

Process control doesn’t mean for big company or manufacturing factory only. It affect us either personal or to the government, we have to study carefully nor it will crash and face some losses. These losses can be money, time, life or power and control.

Our YAB Prime Minister said “One Malaysia”, all citizen are the same, no second class citizen, the government will give us the equal deal. I would like to ask, how sure he can implement all this, and how sure these documents will reaches the PM. Can he read through all the message send to him or his staff will screen through all the documents.

Now the problem arises, under what standard or what procedure or just follow his mode or to what he like. Can the officer dispose off all documents related to what he don’t like, or can he just remove all documents that are not from his friends. How sure the PM know what you said and what I said?

Let me refresh the memories, I had this from a firm saying that I am not a Malay. Can our PM ensure this will not happen again. I doubt again, can this message reach the PM. Our political leaders may have make a decision for the benefit of the people, but then they are not the one who enforce the decision, the enforcement is done by someone else, do they respect the decision? Can the government take action if they don’t follow the instruction if there are interest between them. How can the government educate them? How can you ask someone who is getting something free now, or daily, to give up the free offer and start working under the sun?

Look at the religious issue, what is that so many argument, why someone insist others to stay in a certain religion , they seems like the extremist, forcing others to do something beyond their own view and belief.

Once again, I conclude that no matter what we do, we have to consider and study before we start the process, don’t wait until the final process then only we found out the product is not up to our expectation. It is important to have a process engineer.

It will not change in One day.

Although, someone is trying to change and hold the heart of the people, but the problem is no one will accept and trust you in just moving a small step. First of all, we should survey what people want, and what people need? A decision maker can't just listen to the surrounding people and make decision like that. Are we very sure that, our surrounding people are telling the truth or just telling something related to them and with some benefit to them. Please ask yourself before taking all the words from them, " is that a emotional or racialism reply?" In a country like Malaysia, we should be very careful especially for the non-Malay when we want to said or request something so that it would not consider as an extremist. But actually some are charge by an extremist.

Not going too far, if we want to know why the people don't support us? ask yourself this question: are you doing the same thing to yourself? Is there any differences between you and me? If you are fare to everybody, there shouldn't be a reason for not supporting you.

Ask yourself, why? what makes you do this? can you do the same things to everybody equally? or at lease not a big different. How you feel, if you need to pay more and your friend is paying less on the same product that you are buying? If I am not mistaken, we are very good friend when I was young, we play together, we study together and we take part of all activities together in school, but we don't like each other after leaving the school because he got better offer than me. Rome does not build in one day, our unsatisfaction does not build up in one day, so don't expect us to forgive you in one day. and don't expect us to give the full support in just one action.

We lost what we have last time, unsatisfaction just build up from time to time, our life getting harder and harder, we are worry of our young generation, about the education, their future. Just take one simple example, true story from me, A friend from SIRIM told me need not apply because they wouldn't take non-Malay, IBM reply me for not a Malay after my graduation. But I still give my helping hand to those needed, today.

We must first understand the root course, find out the side issue and provide a good solution, not a temporary solution but a permenant solution. That solution should not because of needing them to support but a solution of either they support or not. Do it from the bottom of your heart. Take care of them even though they don't support. Explain to them, why you need to do this, don't tell story. Don't wait untill last minutes, People cannot see your faithfullness and sincerity. Don't give up and don't worry of losing something, you are still in control, time will prove your sincerity, they will come back to you.

the Crisis - Are we in the Right Track

The American car manufacturers is still looking for the loan from the government in order to survive, due to the low in sales and market demand.

If I were the government of America, I will not giving them the second loan since they receive the first sum of USD134M from the tax payer, why should they need the second loan. How much can the government to fulfill the hole and their requirement if they themselves are not doing the proper things and works.

In the manufacturing system, most of us know, cost constrain is a problem. They should always think of efficiency and productivity. Why those workers there ask for benefit and not productivity and efficiency. Why those workers there cannot or unable to think if they are the employer, what should they do and why they must do?

I have retrench some of the operators and not paying compensation, I give them a period of notice so that they can look for another job or arrange themselves on this, they employer give a promise to reinstate them after the crisis is over. It is better to remove a small group rather than the whole entire company close down. The person who refuse and objected on this is selfish, because they think of himself only, so they wanted everybody to dismiss, they wanted to see everybody in trouble, the whole country collapse in economic wise. I bring the company up from month after month in reducing the losses, cut expenses, improve efficiency and reduce manufacturing cost by sorting new suppliers, improve on the resent materials and improve on the system and method of assembly them. Arrange several shift rather than providing overtime and paid a lot of overtime salary. Rotating shift will helps the employer to cut all the overtime cost including Sunday. Taking off all unnecessary steps and process and maintain only those necessary and put more value on the process. cut down the process link as well as providing automation. Put all the work in one line avoid shifting the parts from one station to another.

Improper system can cause wastage in the production line and increase manufacturing cost, directly affect the income of the company. Some of the process implemented may not be necessary, please bare in mind that, we want the product, so if the production floor can provide the quality product, so what, we are not buying the production system, who care the product is manufactured under the tree or a well equip factory, I mean an air condition factory, providing healthy drinks, meals, recreation facilities, sport facilities, transportation, accommodation to the employers. Luxury cars with a driver to the management staff free luxury facilities to the top management and so on. All this is not necessary and it doesn’t help in the quality of the products. Why should the employer waste the wealth in such a way that creating a negative situation in the financial status. The top management should be responsible to the share holder, and they should not withdraw as much as they like. The company can close down, the share certificate can turn into a waste paper, but what should we do to the employees and the economic of the country and all other country affected by them? The world is just like a chain, it is link together, we or someone cannot said they are not related or they are not affected. Everybody will be affected and everybody is related in this crisis. If no one is trying to get something for himself only without caring the benefit and the bad effect that can be happen from his action, the crisis will not happen, they must be a person who is so selfish to take care of his own benefit only, the crisis is started and all others follow to do the same thing. Because of no one is trying to control and they think freedom means everything, they can do anything they like, so they care for themselves only. Are they enjoying at the end of the day? Do they feel happy when they sees their friends, relative, family members are suffering in this crisis, for what they have done? And he is the only one enjoying the fruit, he is just robbing from other and not creating something new for himself. The proper way is to create a bigger pieces of cakes for everybody and not rob from other.

The system and the regulation may said this is their human right, they have the right of doing this, they have the right to get and take away from the market because this is the market system, FREE TRADE. Because of allowing and because of the system that we trust, so the entire country and all other whom is not getting anything from this and those who really not involve in this does lost so much because of him or because of his thinking. The house of creating the system or the regulation should be sensitive to foresees the problem which may arise in the future and prevent them from happening or come true. That’s why we need a leader. A good leader should take care of their subordinate and supporters, they don’t take care of himself, they shouldn’t say you cut your salary to help the company to go through this crisis, but all together face the problem and work together, if the staffs get USD 5000 a month, then USD 10,000 is more than enough for the CEO.

If I were you, I will change all the person-in-charge, because they are the one who create the trouble and they are the one who cannot manage properly. If we want to change the situation and the status of the company or organization from bad to good, this leader must be change because of their thinking and mind set.

I am not an international famous business administrator, but I have been in the management level of the manufacturing environment for long time, I understand, if we cannot change, we will left behind. Is up to you , you yourself to decide, whether you want to left behind or moving forward together with others. Your own decision.

Free Refill or wasted

I just interview someone “why you take so much?”, “It’s free”.

“Why you waste them?”, “It’s free.”

This are the two simple answer where I got them from a shopping centre at Mutiara Damansara, where they provide free refill coffee, soft drink and water. I had been watching them for two hours, sitting at a small round table just beside this refill machine after purchasing a bad sheet and a kitchen cabinet. I would not sit there for so long if I am not had my back hurt before the CNY. It is just because I need a break after walking for some time, therefore, I took a break at that refreshment area.

I consider the business is not that good, even thought the two line is long; it is just because of the slow pace staff, they are more on having the attitude of “be patient”. A huge shopping centre like this, should not be at this level, their turn over should be few time double to cover the cost and expenditure. Drinks and recipe sold here is not that attractive but to give an image that it is worth to buy because of the free refill and the attraction of the ice cream.

I am doubt, whether the store is making profit, because of providing the free refill, most of the people are just getting some hot dog, ice cream, and drink only. After that, they are just like me, taking a break at the small table. And most of them are refilling the drink with their cup, some of them brought a bottle, and some of the kids just washing the cup there with the soft drink. I notice few of the adults are just testing the drinks, they pull a cup full and test with a sip. Keep changing the drinks after testing those, throw away, drain the cup with the soft drink and take difference drink. From the way they dress, they are consider as the middle class of income people, because they are not branded shirt, they wear slipper, the children are wearing normal jeans, the white T-shirt is almost black. One of them is over weight. Look’s like a blue collar. Children talking loud and lout with each other with mandarin about the drinks, arguing on what to take and who should test them. The father is just watching without interference.

It is not the mistake of the store, but the matter of the education, from the age of the boys, they should be school student, they should have learn to take care of the things, either they belong to us or not to us, either they are free or not for free, love them and appreciate that they are given to us for that and the opportunity. This is the problem that we are facing, our people; either they are senior or junior, very few of them know to appreciate on what they have got. They only know to get angry for what they don’t get. They will turn around and said; you are no good, because we are not taking care of.

What I would like to propose is to control the free refill, with a refill card, so that, they need to slot the card before having the refill, slot the card every times when they press the machine, doesn’t care they make mistake or they just want to wash the cup, they waste the chance if they don’t take serious. That card should be limited to one or two refill only. I think it is more than enough for an adult to have two refills, means they have a total of three cups. So that, it wouldn’t end up with one cup of drink with unlimited refill for one family. The unlimited refill should give to those handicap or the poor as a social contribution if they have made huge profit from us. But not to waste like this.

Is it the Right Choice

Many of us had chosen the alternative either to give a lesson to the existing government of just want some changes. This alternative had taken over five state government and form their government among themselves. The citizen had given the strong support to them, but the question is: are they giving us the best or better than before.

From the policies, we can see, not the alternative is the best, because Chinese cannot sit on certain position in Selangor, and they wanted to implement the Islamic law which is not suitable to us and is definitely not agreed by the non muslin. The meat that the non Muslim especially the Chinese wish to have, the existing government did have some restriction and partition on the selling and distribution of the animal, what will happen if the alternative take over the government, are they going to allow this business and farming going on. What type of policies they will applied to it. Are they closing down all the activities just like Melaka intend to do.

Why the Selangor government had to listen to other in appointing some one to the position, why can’t they make the decision, is it the policies that the alternative had decided or this is they regulation not to appoint non Malay. Why should there be the restriction on the appointment, we all are the citizen of Malaysia, we should have the equal right in sitting on the position in the government.

Sometime, the politician should not complaint we don’t support them after they have done so much for us, we only see changes after the crisis. The existing government start taking serious on the issue from the non Malay communities, they give their support to the Chinese school, they help to solve the problem, but then it is, may be, a big late because we have make the decision, the government of few states had changed. This decision cannot turn back, they have to wait for five years before the people will make a new decision. They are a lot more for the existing to look into it, like the ratio in the government servant; public sector; public officer; most of them are still having racialism in carry out the daily routine work. They implement something which is not the policies from the federal government and create some negative effect and impact to the society. Further more, I personally had face it, I have my highest degree in education, but then when I apply for a position as a facilitator, just hopping to give services to the public for those needed, they give me so many excuse and finally they said not open for application. How can we trust the government that they had change and they really be fare and equal to all. But then, this is not only in the existing government but the alternative too, they are even worse then the existing. They have their own crony to form the team ignoring education, capabilities, and background. They appoint a nasi Lemak seller to be the councilor, or a person sitting on the wheel chair, can they go around and solve the problem, can he visit the flooded area, can he visit the disaster site. He need someone to take care of him, how can he carry out the work and up to the expectation. Our new alternative sit inside the room and discuss how to claim all allowances and expenses and they want publicity and not performance.

Their most common answer is no fund on all the issues like security problem, road damage, road light not functioning, rock blasting affecting the residence houses, drainage not clean, and so on. No one care. Because they won already, and people still hoping they can perform just because the existing government is still far from our expectation and requirement. Some of the YB still talking nonsense in the house. Quarrel for nothing. Some of them just object because they are instructed not to support. By then we can have a quality conference shown to the people, so that we can still support you?
